It's October and that means it's time to resurrect our annual Monster Madness bracket! Tylters voted on Twitter and Instagram for our final two movie monsters. In one corner, it's Damien Thorn from "The Omen," who's not just a bad seed, but the literal son of Satan. In the other corner, it's vengeful psychic Samara Morgan, based on Sadako Yamamura from the original "The Ring" series, and walks around with a cursed, deadly videotape and damaged hair extensions. Which movie monster is scarier?

Damien Thorn is the literal antichrist! What's scarier than that? "The Omen" is a classic supernatural horror movie from 1976. The messed up part is Damien is not the real son of Richard and Katherine Thorn. When their son dies at birth, Richard immediately decides to adopt another baby boy and never tells his wife. That's a big mistake!

Damien's origins are mysterious, but even more mysterious are the deaths that occur around the family. It turns out Damien is the son of Satan and a jackal,  with a 666 birthmark and all. Eventually, after the death of Katherine, Richard becomes aware of Damien's true origins by finding the birthmark on his scalp and decides to drag him to the altar. But due to Richard's erratic behavior, he's followed by the police, who later gun him down before he makes it into the church. At the funeral for both his parents, Damien is seen smiling.

With two sequels and a remake, the franchise has grossed over $162 million domestically at the box office. Not bad for the antichrist!

Damien is ranked at #4 on WatchMojo's list of top 10 evil children from movies. Some may argue he should be #1. Check out the list below.

Samara Morgan is based on the Japanese antagonist Sadako Yamamura of the original "The Ring" novels and movies, with a similar background and abilities. Samara has the "gift" of thoughtography a.k.a. psychic photography. She can basically psionically etch images into the minds of others. Pretty scary, huh? Well, in the 2002 American remake of "The Ring," Samara is the vengeful ghost of a young mass murderer who cursed a videotape.

But she has somewhat of a sympathetic story. Samara was a young girl adopted after her mother is stricken with mental illness. She unknowingly implanted psychic imagery into the minds of others, harming many. Her father locked away in a barn to prevent her from harming anyone else. But after several incidents, her mother snapped and drowned Samara in a well. Samara's vengeful ghost returned and etched brutal imagery of her life onto a cursed videotape. Anyone who watches the tape gets a phone call, bringing death a week laterunless they show someone else the tape before then and the process continues.

While landlines and videotapes are almost extinct, "The Ring" is regarded as an iconic horror remake with two sequels. "The Ring" franchise has made over $493 million globally at the box office. As for Samara, she is one of the more unique horror movie monsters—a ghost with psychic abilities who kills people who watch a tape definite makes her undeniably terrifying to this day.
