“You’ll shoot your eye out!”
"A Christmas Story," (or "Ralphie," as it's commonly known) adapted from Jean Shepherd’s humorous stories, tells the story of Ralph Parker—an imaginative kid obsessed with getting an Official Red Ryder Carbide-Action 200-shot range-model air rifle while surviving “the jungles of kiddom.” It’s easily the funniest holiday film of all time, and here's a fun fact for you: Shepherd is also the narrator!
“The Preacher’s Wife” is a classic remake of the 1947 film, “The Bishop’s Wife.” The film follows an angel played by Denzel Washington, sent down from heaven to help a pastor through a midlife crisis. But instead of focusing on his mission, the angel becomes distracted by the pastor’s beautiful wife, portrayed by Whitney Houston. The film includes rich gospel medleys and delivers a powerful message about the spirit of the Christmas season.
