Favorite comic cat lady: Black Cat or Catwoman?
Black Cat’s real name is Felicia Hardy, which is already dope. What else is dope (and also kind of tragic) about our Felicia is that cat burglary sort of runs in her family. Her dad was a renowned thief, robbing one person after another while teaching his daughter his tricks. Soon Black Cat was making a robbing career of her own, which is how she happens to meet one friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
In between Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy, Spidey has an on-again, off-again relationship with Black Cat. They’re honestly pretty cute together—she’s nearly as sassy and smart as he is, and is way spicier than MJ and Gwen combined. She challenges Peter in a way every super smart and awkward teenager needs to be challenged, checking his ego every so often.
The only thing about Black Cat is that she's a bit of a snob. Her dad really harped on how she should never settle for second best, which kind of gets in the way of her appreciating the good stuff. But how great does she look with white hair, though?
You can’t not think of Catwoman when you read the words “comic cat lady.” She is the ultimate comic cat lady: Her history is extremely extensive and oh-so-entertaining. Not to mention she’s been portrayed by some of the coolest cats (actresses) of all times. Eartha Kitt, anyone?
Catwoman’s actual name is Selina Kyle, and she’s basically the only character in the whole damn “Batman” universe that can keep up with Bruce Wayne. She’s just as clever, and always appears to be two steps ahead of him. Where Batman is super reserved and kind of a killjoy at times, Catwoman loves to live it up in a fierce femme fatale fashion. And she has a great wardrobe to boot which, obviously, is essential to any vigilante’s lifestyle.
