"Made in Staten Island" gives viewers an inside look into the lives of the children of some of America's most well-known gangsters. Staten Island did not welcome MTV's new show with open arms. "Made in Staten Island" follows a group of teens who are indirectly related to mobsters. Critics say the show makes the island look bad and thousands signed an online petition for the show to be canceled.
According to the petition, the show portrays the borough as a haven of mobsters and crime. Karina Seabrook is the granddaughter of Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano, an informant who helped bring down John Gotti, and she's ignoring the backlash.
