The world is "super" divided this week. "Captain America: Civil War" will be released in the U.S. on May 6. Everyone and their mamas are picking sides: Captain America or Iron Man!
MINOR SPOILERS ALERT! LET'S BE REAL, WE'RE ALL CAUGHT UP ON THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, RIGHT?!
In the film, the world is still trying to recover from some catastrophic events following the "Age of Ultron," Loki's mass destruction and "the Battle of New York." At the center of these events were the Avengers, coming together to save the world. But saving the world, came with high costs both to their internal friendships and the world. Lives were lost, Manhattan was left in ruins and the city of Sokovia completely destroyed.
The United Nations plans to implement a governing body to hold the growing superhero population accountable for their actions. While "genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist" Tony Stark (Iron Man) supports the accord, maybe feeling guilty since he created Ultron, Captain America isn't trustful of governmental systems following HYDRA's infiltration of the U.S. government. Cap wants the team to remain independent.
Ultimately, the Avengers are divided and the team literally go to battle against each other. Who would you put your money on? Who is going to win the Civil War? The once All-American, super soldier? Or the big man in a suit of armor?
