Greatest Blink-182 album: 'Enema of the State' or 'Blink-182'?

Blink-182 is one of those bands where, even if you don’t necessarily like punk rock, you bob your head to at least at one of their songs. Don’t say that when “All The Small Things” blasts at a bar you, too, aren’t going “HEH NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA!” When it comes to albums, there are two that are pivotal in the Blink-182 canon: “Enema of the State” which catapulted Blink to public attention, and “Blink-182,” which has more hits than a punching bag. Which is your favorite?

Believe it or not, Blink-182 released two albums before dropping “Enema of the State,” an album that housed some of the most classic Blink songs of all times. “All The Small Things” is on there, along with “What’s My Age Again?” Even though it was album number three, it was the first time the masses truly and deeply fell in love with the trio from California. And high school pep rallies have had their main anthems for the rest of eternity.

Let’s be real, “All The Small Things” is the Blink-182 song. No other song has a stronger association with a band. You hear it and go, “Oh, right, those Blink boys wrote that!” You're not mixing it up with any other basic band, like Nickelback, that's for sure.

The other thing about “Enema of the State,” it’s Blink-182 unabashedly being Blink-182. They’re immature, unruly, messy, and it’s awesome. Unless they’re hunting for UFOs. Then they just look dumb

Everything about the self-titled Blink-182 album is iconic, right down to its cover. Those smiley faces with the eyes and those arrow thingies? Classic. The album was released in the Golden Age of Emo, something that former members (although are we ever really “formerly” emos?) still silently flip their hair too.

Then there’s the tracks. “I Miss You” is on there, a slower ballad that, for one, showed the band’s serious side. And “Feeling This,” which is low-key one of the sexiest songs around. Don’t agree? Get out.

Whatever the case, "Blink-182" is forever a fan favorite. We can only wonder what their newest album will bring.
