Billboard's Top Female Artist: Beyoncé or Rihanna?
On May 21, the 2017 Billboard Music Awards is honoring the best music artists who dominated the Billboard charts within the last year. And the Tylt is predicting the winners in the "Top Artist" categories in a series of BBMA brackets. The ladies nominated for Top Female Artist are some of the best artists in the music game. (Unfortunately, we had to leave off a nominee in this bracket—Sia.)
It's Beyoncé versus Rihanna, and Adele versus Ariana Grande in our first round.
Slay Queen Bey, slay! She's been in formation since birth.
Beyoncé is one of the most nominated artists this year at the Billboard Awards. Her "Formation" tour is nominated, she dominated the R&B charts in 2016, and she had the world's best-selling album in 2016. Like we said—she slays!
Watch the music video to "Sorry" below—one of her top hits from her magnum opus, "Lemonade."
Rihanna is the crossover artist of this generation.
Her hits "Work," "Needed Me," and "This Is What You Came For" helped her dominate pop, R&B and dance charts in 2016. But whenever Bad Gal RiRi releases a collection of new music in a year, this is typically the case. You can't put on a label on her.
Check out her music video for "Work" below—because all she does is work, work, work, work, work, work and win.
