Beyoncé is the epitome of slayage, and she brought nothing less to her already iconic Coachella performance. The BeyHive refers to Queen Bey as the greatest living entertainer, with many going as far as to compare her to the late King of Pop. While plenty of doubters concede Beyoncé is the most successful crossover artist the recording industry has seen in decades, they argue there will only be one MJ—and that magic can't be replicated. What do you think? 🎤

Comparing Queen Bey to the King of Pop has put the Internet at war.

According to BET.com:

The BeyHive and Moonwalkers played Twitter tug-of-war with the G.O.A.T. crown for the greatest performer of all time in the “Michael Jackson or Beyoncé” debate. From the BeyHive’s position, Bey’s worthiness comes from a combination of aesthetic multitude, live vocal versatility, breathtaking choreography and thematic skillfulness for every stage she’s graced. On the contrary, MJ fans have spat back, not only did the Jackson family icon master those same aforementioned stage gifts, but was able to send swarms of fainting fans to the emergency room while doing it.

Some of the Beyhive are calling Bey the new MJ, others are saying she's better than MJ. Either way, Moonwalkers ain't having it. Rolling Out also joined in on the debate:

In comparison, each artist had different ways of captivating audiences. Jackson used dance, set themes, and a bit of mysticism to keep the audience engaged throughout his show. Prince would use his skill of instrumentation. Beyoncé’s focus on dance and set themes is more closely aligned with Jackson’s live show.

Some fans argue the torch has been passed to Beyoncé, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Fans are reminding the world that Bey is the greatest living entertainer. PERIOD.

And some have called Bey the new MJ or the female MJ for years.

But others argue there's no one like MJ, and Bey shouldn't even have to be compared to one of her greatest influences at this stage of her career.

MJ remains relevant whenever an artist like Beyoncé or Bruno Mars slays. That's the legacy and influence of the King of Pop. BOOM!

Some argue Bey isn't this generation's Michael Jackson because no one can ever top, or be in the same league, as the late King of Pop.
