For the past several decades—female artists have declared their independence, dismantled double standards and empowered women with their music. Enter the "Girl Power Anthem." What better way to celebrate Women's History Month than to honor the women in music who influenced feminist movements, and ultimately pick the greatest girl power anthem of all time.

Whitney and Shania encouraged women to openly embrace womanhood in the '90s. Does "I'm Every Woman" or "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" deserve the title of greatest girl power anthem?

"I'm Every Woman" was already a funk-soul classic and female empowerment anthem by Chaka Khan when Whitney covered it for "The Bodyguard" soundtrack. Whitney added her own spin, and it became mega pop hit in 1993.

Some notable lyrics

Whatever you want
Whatever you need
Anything you want done, baby,
I do it naturally'
Cause I'm every woman (Every woman)
It's all in meIt's all in me
I'm every woman
It's all in me
Anything you want done, baby,
I do it naturally
I'm every womanIt's all in meI
can read your thoughts right now
Every one from A to Z...
Whoa whoa whoa
Whoa (oh) whoa (oh) whoa
Shania wasn't shy about being feminine and being a powerful woman all in one. It's the basis of her iconic smash "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!"
Let's go girls! Come on.
I'm going out tonight-I'm feelin' alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise-really raise my voice
Yeah, I wanna scream and shout
No inhibitions-make no conditions
Get a little outta line
I ain't gonna act politically correct
I only wanna have a good time
The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun
