Here's the synopsis of "Game of Thrones," thanks to IMDB:

Nine noble families fight for control over the mythical lands of Westeros; A forgotten race returns after being dormant for thousands of years.

If you have never seen "Game of Thrones," or fell off during an earlier season, then you are basically an outsider. AN OUTSIDER! Everyone is always talking about the show—even after 60 episodes. The seventh season premieres on July 16, and it's always interesting to see who's going to take over the Iron Throne or kill or be killed. Yep, this is still on top of its game. And if last year's season finale is any indication, fans can't enough.

Variety's Laura Prudom wrote last year:

No matter who’s on the Iron Throne, “Game of Thrones” continues to rule in ratings; HBO’s drama hit a series high for its Season 6 finale in live plus same day viewership, drawing 8.9 million viewers in a pivotal episode that killed off several major characters and shook up the show’s political landscape forever.

In the seventh season's teaser, the Iron Throne will come down to Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. So again, the show is only beginning to more ruthless. Not only that, but there are five spin offs in the works. FIVE!

Huffpost's Bill Bradley writes:

For now, the author wants us to know that there is an order for five pilot scripts and he is working with all the writers, not just two as previously reported. Also, the spinoffs aren’t going to be spinoffs like we usually think of them. They’re all going to be prequels from stories we likely haven’t heard before.

Whatever these spin offs give us, we'll take it. That's for sure.

But in the meantime, let's check out what makes this show great—the many characters who have met their doom because of the Iron Throne and the harsh medieval-like setting. Here's WatchMojo's top 10 deaths.

Check out the synopsis of "The Walking Dead," per IMDB:

Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes wakes up from a coma, to learn the world is in ruins, and must lead a group of survivors to stay alive.

"The Walking Dead" premiered before "Game of Thrones," back in 2010, and started to build up its fanbase way before "GoT" premiered in 2011. There's nothing wrong with a head start, but this only means "TWD" fans have been invested just a little longer.

It also means "TWD" has already completed its controversial seventh season. While fans were pissed about the brutal deaths of Glenn and Abraham at the hands of the bat-wielding sociopath Negan, "TWD" remains one of the highest-rated shows on cable TV.

The Hollywood Reporter writes AMC's CEO isn't worried about "TWD."

"It's pretty alive and vital and there's a long time that we're going to be playing with The Walking Dead," Sapan told the MoffettNathanson Media & Communications Summit in New York City during a session that was webcast. He conceded the seventh season ended with "some minor erosion" in overall audience ratings, but the zombie drama remains strong creatively.

That's because horror geeks love the zombie-apocalyptic thriller. "TWD" manages to break the hearts of its fans and keep them engaged at the same time. Fans get pissed at falling in love with certain characters over the course of a few seasons before they are brutally killed off, but "TWD" wouldn't be that great without the shocking and gory deaths of beloved characters. It's a harsh reality of the apocalypse.

And let's be for real here—fans👏🏽 are👏🏽 going👏🏽 to👏🏽 watch👏🏽TWD,👏🏽period. After seven years, people are invested. And fans can't stop watching to see what big shock or character death is next.
