Who's more badass: Batgirl or Supergirl?

Batman and Superman both have their female counterparts. And don't get it twisted—Batgirl and Supergirl hold their own. The heroines have often teamed up in the comics, but just like Batman versus Superman, fans have their favorite. Batgirl is a feminist icon who has endured and persevered over the years, and became a fan favorite as DC Comics' most well-known lesbian character. Supergirl is more bubbly and sweet, but she packs as strong of punch as her cousin. Which heroine is more badass? 👊🏻💪🏻

The "Batgirl" movie is reportedly back on and "Batwoman" is being developed into a CW show. While "Supergirl" is already a hit CW show, there's now a DCEU film in the works too! Both heroines are finally getting their due.

Back in April, Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit wrote about the continuation of "Batgirl" after Joss Whedon left the project.

Warner Bros. is lighting up the Bat-signal for Batgirl once again.
Two months after Joss Whedon left the Batgirl movie project, the studio is moving ahead on developing a new film project based on the DC Entertainment heroine.
Christina Hodson, who wrote the upcoming Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, has been tapped to pen a new script featuring Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon.
Barbra Gordon is the most established version of the character, who was initially introduced in 1961 as Betty Kane. But the character was revamped in 1967 when television executives wanted to attract a female audience to the Batman TV series, then faltering in its third season. Yvonne Craig played the character whose last live-action big-screen appearance was with Alicia Silverstone in Joel Schumacher's 1997 movie Batman & Robin (the character makes a CG cameo in Ready Player One).

Deadline's Mike Fleming Jr. got the exclusive on the upcoming "Supergirl" project and fans are excited:

Warner Bros and DC are developing a feature film based around Supergirl, the heroine and cousin of Superman. Oren Uziel is working on the script, I’ve confirmed. Not a lot more is being divulged at this point, and it comes as a surprise considering most internet chatter has been based on what will next happen for Superman, who after the 2013 film Man of Steel, was conscripted to become key to the plots of Batman V Superman, and more recently Justice League.

With different projects in development, which heroine is more badass?

Let's be real. Barbara Gordon is all about getting the job done. And although she has no superpowers, she's a master crimefighter, martial artist and detective. Batgirl is not only a feminist icon (who has endured sexism in the comics), but a disabled and LGBTQ icon, too.

Watch her origin story, and see why she is the most badass sidekick turned solo heroine.

Supergirl represents all the great things that Superman stands for—especially hope.

Kara Zor-El is adventurous and fun, but she's also a total powerhouse. She can do all the things Superman can do, and sometimes even better. Have you seen Melissa Benoist's portrayal of Supergirl?! She's totally more badass than Superman, that's for sure!

Watch Supergirl's origin story, and see why this heroine is the ultimate badass.
