Who could forget Marty’s aerial getaway from a group of bullies in “Back to the Future Part II"? While a few companies have actually attempted to make the iconic hoverboard a reality, we’re still a ways off from being able to add one to our Amazon cart. That doesn’t seem to make people want one any less, though, and with Lexus's newest breakthrough, owning your very own hoverboard may soon be in the not-so-distant future!

While it was deceptive low-tech that brought us the original self-lacing Nike’s—there were actually film crew members under the floor that pulled the laces of the shoes tight—nowadays we might be one step closer to an actual version of these super-cool kicks. Nike released the HyperAdapts back in 2016 for a staggering $720, and just earlier this year revealed the updated version at about half the cost. While neither are exact replicas of Marty's futuristic footwear in the movie, they're pretty close to the power-laces that "Back to the Future" fans have been talking about for decades.
