Alternative rock album of the year: 'Blackstar' or 'A Moon Shaped Pool'?
It's the end of the year! And throughout December, we're facing-off the best songs, albums, movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, sports, pro athletes and entertainers of 2016. The "Best of 2016" is chosen by a combination of popularity, impact, acclaim, rankings and/or amount sold. But ultimately, we want you to let us know who and what from 2016 won the year in each category.
"Blackstar" and "A Moon Shaped Pool" both made it on many "Best Albums of 2016" lists—but which album is this year's best?
And don't forget to check out these other end of year debates:
"Blackstar" was Bowie's final album for his fans. He released the album on his birthday and soon after, he passed away. Although Bowie was snubbed in the Grammys Album of the Year category, he's nominated for Best Alternative Rock Album. And with this album, he's leaving us with quite the legacy.
Like "Blackstar," Radiohead's "A Moon Shaped Pool" made it on many "Best of 2016" lists and is nominated for Best Alternative Rock Album—mixing art rock and electronica into an cohesive sound. Radiohead's latest effort is one of the most acclaimed albums of 2016. If any alternative rock album gives "Blackstar" a run for its money, it's "A Moon Shaped Pool."
