6ix9ine, a 22-year-old kid from Brooklyn with rainbow hair, is breaking barriers in the music industry in record time. His break out hit  "GUMMO" was released in 2017 and went platinum. He also had five songs simultaneously chart on the Billboard 100. But 6ix9ine may be one of the most hated rappers alive. He has a history of trolling celebs online and was recently kidnapped and robbed. But despite the hate, his success is undeniable. Is he the next big thing?

6ix9ine recently collaborated with Nicki Minaj on a song entitled "Fefe." The track has over 92 million views on YouTube and currently sits at #4 on the Billboard Top 100

But people in the music industry despise the Brooklyn rapper because he verbally threatens people online. According to Donnie Kwak of The Ringer, there are a "myriad" of reasons not to like 6ix9ine: 

6ix9ine is also a pariah, an outrage magnet for our outrage culture. His past includes a guilty plea to a child-related sexual misconduct charge; his present has been marred by violence, real and threatened. He is a shameless troll whose power of attraction is woven in his ability to repel. There are myriad reasons to hate the first new rap star of 2018, but he is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
