Would you rather ride a pegasus or a dragon?

Transportation is just so much cooler in mythology. On one hand you have a pegasus, a gorgeous winged horse that was honored by the gods; on the other is a dragon, a scaly beast that breathes fire. Which would you hitch a ride on?

A pegasus is one of the more heavy metal methods of transportation. They're not just horses—they're horses with wings. No matter what you’re doing, you look a little more badass doing it with a pegasus as your vehicle. Need to make a grocery run? Badass. Soar over bumper-to-bumper traffic? Badass. Fly into battle swinging a mace? Bad. Ass.

But a pegasus is also gentle. They're companions as much as they're your ride and can provide comfort when the going gets tough. Plus, riding an animal that closely resembles something you’re already familiar with may be a bit easier (and a lot less intimidating) to manage than, say, a gigantic fire-breathing reptile. Speaking of which…

Dragons look cool on screen, but imagine seeing one in real life? You’d have to change your underwear if you don’t get incinerated first. They’re not as approachable as a pegasus and there’s certainly a lot more strategy in terms of riding them. There’s also no way sitting on those scales for an extended amount of time can be comfortable.

However, the payoff for finally being able to ride a dragon is huge. You think riding a pegasus is heavy metal? Riding a dragon is heavy adamantium. Zero people would mess with you if you busted in on a dragon, and it definitely covers more distance than a pegasus ever could. Plus, underneath their terrifying façade, we’re willing to bet dragons have a huggable side.
