Would you rather live in the suburbs or city?

Location, location, location—the words (well, technically, word) that anyone advising first-time renters or buyers will use again and again. Where one lives depending on lifestyle is essential. Some opt to move to the suburbs for space and more of a natural aspect; others love the city life for its speed and convenience. Which would you prefer?

The suburbs are the quiet lifestyle to choose. Sure, they don’t typically have as much to do as the city, but they have plenty of things cities sure don’t. Space is the most evident of those things—how much of a backyard or porch can you really get (or even afford) in an urban setting? Not as much as you would in a town, that’s for sure.

Suburbs also allow for enough room for a car (without, you know, fighting people to park on the street), and also even more room for pets and maybe kids (we’ll take the dog, thanks). In the suburbs, the livin’s easy, friend.

Yeah, a porch is nice and all, but how about a fire escape? A rooftop? Not having to own a car because there’s pretty much any and every type of public transportation at your disposal? Oh, and there’s night life to be had, a whole ton of food to be taste, and even some interesting cultural activities—such as a museum or exhibit—to work your brain with. The city life’s the life for us, man.

There’s nothing wrong with loving an easy suburban lifestyle, but there’s something so much more enticing about living in the city. It’s almost as if you get more out of life the more urban your setting is. So enjoy that late night pizza and car horn music, friends—the city awaits.
