Do you want a "Winter Spiced Cranberry" Sprite flavor?
It's about time we had a holiday version of Sprite, and this flavor is already set up for success. As Food and Wine puts it:
...though Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry may be new, Sprite Cranberry has been around since 2013 and has proven to be extremely popular. Coca-Cola says sales of the drink doubled from 2013 to 2017....
And as Delish points out, the flavor combo is practically begging to be made into your next holiday party punch:
...it's about two thirds away from being a complete wintery cocktail all in itself. Just add liquor and voila, it can be a quick fix for a stressful time of the year when even making a fancy cocktail can be just a little bit too much work.
Let's be clear, there's quite a wide gap between cranberry and spiced cranberry. Spiced cranberry is reminiscent of cranberry sauce served at Thanksgiving, which features cinnamon, allspice, ginger and cloves. No part of this flavor combination seems like a perfect pairing for the lemon-lime flavor of sprite.
Nobody asked for their least-favorite Thanksgiving side dish to be turned into a soda. No one. This holiday drink is a disaster waiting to happen.
