There are really only two types of people: mountain people and beach people. Take a quick poll of your friends and family, and they'll usually quickly categorize themselves into Team Beach versus Team Mountain. There's actually some science to back it up, too: A study in Journal of Research in Personality found "extroverts prefer the beach to the mountains, while introverts prefer the opposite." Mountain lovers extol the virtues of solitude, fresh air, and exercise. While beach-goers love the sun, the sand and the relaxing sound of the ocean. Which do you prefer?

Though the scenery at the beach is not too shabby, either.
