Would you rather be a werewolf or a vampire?

Imagine: you’re walking home alone at night. A full moon looms above you. Leaves rustle in the wind, and behind you, suddenly, a branch snaps. You whirl around to see a monster stand before you, about to turn you into a creature of the night. Would you rather this form be a werewolf, in which you would only have to put up with a horrific transformation once a month, or a vampire, in which you have an eternity of bloodsucking cool. Which would you rather be?

Werewolves are metal. You can go from any old Joe Schmo to gigantic, muscular beast every time the full moon rolls around. You tear off your clothes dramatically, roll your head back and friggin’ howl at the big round nocturnal cheese in the sky. Basically, for one night every month, you get to let loose in the best, beastly way possible.

And, for real, what animal is more badass than a wolf? They travel either by themselves or in a pack, are a lot bigger in person than you’d assume, and basically like to stick to themselves unless someone or something bothers them. As a werewolf, you’d get to be that for a whole night!

The only drawbacks to being a werewolf are the precautions that go along with it. You have to make sure you’re in an isolated area when you turn, and that you’d didn’t schedule social activities for the night of the full moon. Transforming into a literal hairy beast on a first date is kind of a buzzkill.

Vampires have the stereotype of being sexy, and for a good reason. They’re eternally young and hot, basically, unless you’re, like, a Bernie Sanders and unfortunately get stuck that way for the rest of eternity. Then you don’t follow the stereotype.

As a vampire, you’ll pretty much be hot for the rest of your life. You’ll get to take things slow and really experience what life has to offer since, you know, you’ll be living forever. You can experience centuries, travel anywhere in the world, do anything and everything that’s imaginable since, hey, you’re not dying anytime soon, so why not? That is, unless you have that pesky Van Helsing after you.

The one teensy drawback is that vampires are a wee bit boring. They’re also forced to stay in the dark all the time, and have to see every human they care about die of old age eventually, so the social aspect is stressful. Plus, there’s that whole blood thing, which is annoying, but honestly in the grand scheme of things, minor. Being one still sounds pretty dope.
