Should Milo speak at the GOP convention? | The Tylt
Redditors on /r/The_Donald are calling for Breitbart tech reporter Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at the GOP convention. Yiannopoulos is best known for his provocative tour, The Dangerous Faggot Tour, which has made appearances at college campuses across the U.S. to much protest and controversy.
Redditors say that Yiannopoulos’s presence at the GOP convention would be a nod to the growing millennial right that has coalesced around the Trump candidacy; that it is time to acknowledge the change in the GOP, and who better to do it than Milo? He flies in the face of political correctness and is well received by younger conservative voters.
However, some conservatives think Yiannopoulos would be a controversial distraction at the GOP convention, one that Republicans can't risk. While he delights a particular audience, his inflammatory rhetoric could alienate swing voters and moderates, who will decide this election. Others are fundamentally opposed to Yiannopoulos on an ideological level, and don't want him given a platform of any kind. His presence may spark further left-wing opposition and protest at the convention.
