There's nothing like the satisfaction of a smooth, full-bodied red wine. Red wine is the serious option; its richness far surpasses that of any floral white wine on the market.

Red wine is also the healthier option. Unlike white, red wine is made with the seeds and skins of the grape—giving it its deep hue—which contain many beneficial compounds and antioxidants.

Red wine pairs perfectly with a beef fillet, ribs, and, yes, popcorn.

But where red wine can be bitter, white wine is smooth. Whites are floral, fruity and aromatic, and according to one study, a preference for white wine means you're likely an extravert with a curious-but-sarcastic personality. What's not fun about that?

White wine often gets a bad rap for being the "easy" choice, but a glass of Chardonnay can be just as complex as a glass of Malbec. As Elite Daily's Jasmine Vaughn-Hall writes:

People who like reds tend to get really into the intricate details that make a good red wine. From the body to the color, there's so much to look out for. White wine isn't as cut and dry as people make it out to be. There are still qualities and things to look out for when deciding if you're drinking a magical white wine.

White wine is the perfect summer drink. Pair it with pasta, fish, cheese, or gnocchi to take your evening to the next level.
