Who knew we'd be asking ourselves this question and giving it serious thought? As the nation steps into a reality of self-quarantine, many people are asking themselves: Where is the most ideal place to be stuck? Some would rather be in their own space, maintaining a sense of normalcy. Others are retreating to their parents' house, where at least there's people around. Where are you self-quarantining?

Some are embracing the idea of self-quarantine. You are able to spend your time in your own space, with your own Netflix shows, your own books and your own expectations for how your day ought to go.

Others would rather spend time in their parents' home. Not only is it likely to have more space to spread out, but being around family during a time of mass uncertainty can bring comfort to some, no matter how quirky that family might be.

Whether or not you spend your quarantine at your parent's place or your place is really irrelevant. It's going to have the same ending.

Your parents are probably already nagging you about spending more time with them anyway. Might as well take the plunge during self-quarantine.

But doing so would mean a change in lifestyle, which for some, cannot be sacrificed further than what this situation already demands.

Others say there's no problem in being at home with your parents, as long as the proper power dynamic is in play.

Not everyone has safe options for self-quarantine. If you or someone you know faces danger at home in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak, please call or text the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
