The US government is lifting a ban on growing animal embryos that are part human. The hybrid embryos would be used to grow human organs for organ transplants and to study human diseases. While some are excited about the possibility of helping people in desperate need of an organ transplant, others have ethical concerns. Some people are concerned scientists might accidentally give animals a form of human consciousness or human thinking capability.
