Should Prince Harry invite the Obama family to the royal wedding?

The British government reportedly warned Prince Harry that inviting the Obama family to his wedding could set off an international incident. They worry President Donald J. Trump would become enraged that his self-declared rival received an invitation while he did not. It could make things impossible for Theresa May and the Foreign Office to work with the United States. The president's critics relish the thought of Trump losing his mind over the slight, but is it worth the risk? What do you think?

Officials in the U.K. are worried that Prince Harry inviting Obama without inviting Trump could create an international incident. At the very least, it could raise tensions and make it impossible for U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May to work with President Trump in a meaningful way.

A senior government source said: “Harry has made it clear he wants the Obamas at the wedding, so it’s causing a lot of nervousness.
“Trump could react very badly if the Obamas get to a Royal wedding before he has had a chance to meet the Queen.

“Conversations are ongoing about and ministers will eventually have to decide. If the PM lays down the law, Harry will just have to suck it up."

As the wedding is not a state occasion, the Government only have a consultative role in its organization and heads of state will not be invited.

This situation comes after several feuds between Trump and May earlier in 2017.
