Instagram has revealed its new icon look and design. And of course, IG users are split on the "New Instagram." Some are calling it ugly and others are really feeling the new design.

"Today we’re introducing a new look," the platform stated in a blog post. "You’ll see an updated icon and app design for Instagram. Inspired by the previous app icon, the new one represents a simpler camera and the rainbow lives on in gradient form."

Changes have been made to other creative apps as well: Boomerang, Hyperlapse and Layout.

According to the blog, IG made some improvements inside of the app as well and that the design puts a focus on users' photos and videos like never before! Not everyone is into the change.

IG is hopeful users will continue to evolve with the app.

"The Instagram community has evolved over the past five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more — a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day. Our updated look reflects how vibrant and diverse your storytelling has become."

What do you think: #CuteIGIcon or #UglyIGIcon?
