Would you rather meet your significant other IRL or through a dating app?
Granted, there are a lot of conveniences modern technology has afforded us. Want fast take-in? There’s an app for that. Need to deposit a check real fast? App. However, the one thing technology cannot possibly replace is bonafide human interaction. That being said, how can one possibly—possibly—expect to find love online? Yeah, okay, you hear stories about so-and-so meeting their now-husband-or-wife via a dating app, but when you look at their relationship, is that really one you want? No. It’s in person that you get that actual click, not by some profile.
Yeah, OK, approaching someone in real life is scary, with a lot of risks involved. But nothing easily gotten is worth getting in the first place. A little rejection here and there is worth that one, important “yes” in the long run.
Oh, quit being such a sour pus, already! Dating used to be a huge pain in the rear; online dating that has changed that for the better. Instead of sifting through a bunch of people in bars and the like, one can now fine tune prospects through a catalog of profiles within the comfort of their own home. It’s less time wasted, and a quicker shot at finding the one you’re meant to be with for the rest of your life (or, if not, at least you’ll get a nice date out of it!).
Anyway, when you think about it, is the strategy behind online dating really that different from meeting someone in person? The concept is the same, no? You vibe with someone, you agree to meet up with them. Finding love is finding love at the end of the day, man—the means matter not if the ending is happy!
