Team G-Code (led by sculpture department students from Kansas City Art Institute, where "Make48" was held), concerned with the safety and efficiency of new cooks, created the Chop Guide.

The Chop Guide is a hinged board with four color-coded cutting surfaces (to avoid cross-contamination) with a grid for uniform chopping. It features a guide for various chopping sizes (julienne, diced, and so on) and comes with a slide-in chopping tool similar to a mezzaluna.

Two fathers and one kid each make up Team Jiggawatt. This squad offered a novel solution for the common headache of charger cords going missing.

The ZipGlo plugs into a wall socket, offering four sockets, and easily stores cables with an internal wrap-around system. There’s enough space on top to rest and charge two smartphones. Not only that, but it’s also a motion-activated night light.
