TIME's Lisa Eadicicco went a step further, saying the iPhone 7 is "barely" Apple's best smartphone and—while a great smartphone—not necessarily worth the upgrade:
"Speaking with CNBC earlier this year, Apple’s CEO teased that the company would 'give you things that you can’t live without that you just don’t know that you need today.' Do the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus live up to that statement? Not quite. If you’re already carrying an iPhone 6s, there’s little need to upgrade."
But iPhone 7 fans are pointing to some huge upgrades in camera technology, haptic feedback and the fact that the phone does not blow up in your face, as reasons why Apple's smartphone is totally worth the price tag.
