Are office holiday parties fun or tedious? | The Tylt
Office holiday parties are probably one of the few times you can casually walk up to the CEO, who may or may not be tipsy, and just have a chat. The jury is still out on whether that’s a good thing or not. For some, the holiday office party is a tedious and mandatory annual ritual that forces people to mingle with unlikable co-workers. For others, office holiday parties are an opportunity to have fun with colleagues who they genuinely enjoy working with. What do you think? 🎉

It's the holidays. Your colleagues are letting loose. What's not to like? The world might be going to hell but you might as well have some fun. Even if you've had a horrible year and have no hope for 2018, the holidays are a time to set your troubles aside and take a moment to appreciate the good things in life... even if it's with your co-workers.
But a lot of people hate holiday office parties because more often than not they're awkward, tedious and time-consuming. Chances are you'll have the exact same conversation with every co-worker you know. Then you'll tell it again to your in-laws two weeks later.
There's very little fun to be had holiday office parties.
