Is eating outside fun or uncomfortable?

Things are slowly opening back up. In order to take precautions amid the COVID-19 outbreak, restaurants now have outdoor seating only (six feet apart, of course) in which diners can still enjoy their favorite food during the pandemic. Some usually find eating outside fun anyway, what with the sights and sounds to be had. Others find it incredibly uncomfortable, especially in the summer heat. How about you?

Eating inside all the time can just be so boring. When the weather is beautiful—be it the spring, summer, or fall—who wouldn’t want to be sipping on some drinks and munching on some munchies on some restaurant’s patio? Not to mention we’ve been stuck inside for months on end; we need to up our vitamin D intake as much as possible at this point.

Eating outside also affords excitement vis-â-vis people-watching. It doesn’t have to be a restaurant, either—picnics are always a fun time. Throw a bottle a wine or two (or five) in that basket, and, bam, day-drinking at its finest!

You know why eating inside is so great? It’s a controlled environment: you can control the temperature; you can control whether or not disgusting bugs are zipping around your face; and you can control whether or not annoying people are constantly walking by your table. You know what eating outside is? Atrophy.

Seriously, no one actually enjoys eating outside, especially when it’s gonads-hot outside and you can barely eat from the discomfort. There are also, again, all the bugs that are trying to get to your breadbasket before you do. Oh, and the people. What’s stopping them from reaching over and grabbing your food for themselves? Nothing—because you’re outside.
