Is Tony Robbins responsible for dozens burned at his event? | The Tylt
Uh oh! 30-40 people were burned 🔥 at a fire-walking event hosted by motivational speaker Tony Robbins on Thursday night. At least five attendees were hospitalized for burns from walking on hot coal.
“In Dallas tonight, someone not familiar with the fire walk observed the event and called 911 erroneously reporting hundreds of people requiring medical attention for severe burns. While we are grateful to the quick and robust response from Dallas emergency services, only 5 of 7,000 participants requested any examination beyond what was readily available on site. We are pleased to have completed another successful fire walk for 7,000 guests and look forward to the remainder of an outstanding weekend with them.”
But who's actually responsible: Is it Tony for encouraging people to walk on hot coal? Or is it the participants' fault for listening to him?
The obvious answer for some is Tony. He asked the attendees to trust him and walk on hot coal, which objectively is not a smart idea. But then again, he asked and THEY listened. Yes, they are victims, but some believe they are more to blame for listening to Tony's ridiculous requests.
While some think Tony is fraudulent, his fans are coming to his rescue. More than 7,000 people walked on fire and very few were actually hurt. There are certain precautions in place at these kind of events and participants know the risks. But as the saying goes, if you play with fire, you might get burned!
Who should be held accountable: #TonyRobbinsAtFault or #ParticipantsAtFault?

Twelve people were treated for burns after walking on fire at a Tony Robbins motivational seminar. 6988 others were treated for gullibility.— Fake Dispatch (@Fake_Dispatch) June 24, 2016
Kinda hard to feel sorry for someone when they hurt themselves walking over hot coals. At least Tony Robbins was there for motivation.— Jason Ondo (@Ondoism) June 24, 2016
Don't blame Tony Robbins. Blame the dumbasses that agreed to walk on coals. Should've learned common sense with that personal development.— TheGrandAdmiral (@GAGainz) June 24, 2016
