However, there's a reason why CEOs make a lot of money.

The idea of paying a CEO ludicrous amounts of money comes from the idea of the great leader. The obvious example is Steve Jobs. Under his guidance, Apple became a world-changing behemoth. Good CEOs should be compensated for their impact on the company.

But the problem is that not every CEO is Steve Jobs. In fact, most are not.
