Should commercial surrogacy be banned?

As Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby girl born via surrogate, some asked whether commercial surrogacy is ethical. France, Germany, Italy, and Spain prohibit all forms of surrogacy. At the Princeton Journal of Bioethics, Varun Bhave argues "Commercial surrogacy is inevitably built on the vulnerabilities and financial needs of surrogates." But surrogacy offers some (such as gay male couples, or couples who are infertile) a path to parenthood. Should commercial surrogacy be banned?
