Would you storm Area 51?

Everyone's been curious about Area 51 at one point or another, and hundreds of thousands of people have decided enough is enough—they must know what the highly classified U.S. military base is all about. Conspiracy theories can be dangerous, but the rumors surrounding Area 51 have existed for decades, with many believing the base holds secret alien life forms and UFOs. Still, some say leaning into these theories only creates chaos. Are you down to storm Area 51?

A Facebook event titled "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us" has 439,000 confirmed attendees at the time of publication (with another 448,000 Facebook users "interested" in attending). The event description, which is notably hyperbolic when referring to "dodging bullets," invites the crew to storm the famed U.S. military base:

We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens.

Not everyone is on board for the journey. Although Area 51 rumors have swirled for decades, some say giving conspiracy theories this kind of attention is dangerous. Plus, not everyone may realize the effort to storm the base is a joke.
