People have been saying the end of the world is coming for as long as anyone's had a concept of time. But the idea of hoarding non-perishable goods and staying away from others to wait out the [plague, nukes, zombies, liberals, locusts, Ragnarok, Post Malone's career or whatever] really came to the fore with Cold War bomb shelters. To most folks, the whole idea has seemed excessive at best and paranoid at worst. Now, COVID-19 has people trying to prepare for long stays indoors, and some are saying maybe the preppers were on to something all along. Are they right?
