Avocados rule our lives now. It has invaded breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's become the go-to excuse for old people to try to dunk on millennials. But we want to ask a deeper question here—are avocados actually any good? On one hand, the fact that avocados are literally taking over the world mean they have to be pretty good. But others think avocados are tasteless, have a gross texture, and are way too expensive. Which side are you on? 🥑

This fetishization of avocados has gone too far. They're just not that good. If we wanted to add a tasteless, mushy piece of overpriced fruit (what is it even?) in our breakfast—well, we wouldn't. Get your omelet without the avocado and use that money you saved for some bacon.

The fact that avocados have taken over the world is proof that avocados are a gift from above. Literally everywhere the avocado goes, people love it. It works for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

People around the world have made avocados their own. They come as milkshakes in Vietnam, as a soup in Colombia, cocktails in South Africa or sometimes eaten on their own cause they're that good.
