Do you actually go in for your check-up every year?

No one likes going to the doctor. But, you know what, sometimes it has to be done. Your health has such a great bearing on all aspects of your life, it's essential that you make sure that your body is as it should be. Doctors and dentists stressing annual check-ups shouldn't be just white noise to you; it should be something you make a real effort to do. Some are super diligent about this; others, not so much. And you?

Again, whether you’re healthy or not, making sure everything’s as it should be is key. It’s like car maintenance. Or any other form of maintenance. Just, you know, your body. Slightly more important than a car, wouldn’t you say? And if there's an underlying health concern that you can't detect, or that you can detect early, it's important you tend to it, stat. One check-up can go a long way health-wise.

Hitting up your doctor or dentist or whatever is also a great way to keep yourself on track. Maybe you put on a little more weight since your last check-up; maybe there’s slightly more plaque in between those pearly whites. Whichever the case, it’s important to take care of yourself now so the later becomes easier. Seriously, though, at least send your doctor a holiday card, or something.

Going to the doctor’s or dentist or whatever is only for when something is wrong. Period. Going for a check-up is straight-up a waste of time. Not to mention the copay, depending on your insurance (although, fun fact, if it’s coded as a check-up by your doctor’s administrator, you might not need to pay one!).

Why bother going to someone who’s just going to tell you you’re healthy, anyway? Go by the gut feeling. The appointments can wait. Life has bigger things that need tending to that don’t involving waiting in some room for an hour for an appointment that lasts 15 minutes.
